Lily & The Parlour Tricks - Requiem
Americana/indie pop band Lily & The Parlour Tricks are a six-pieces group from New York with influences by The Andrews Sisters, The Everly Brothers, NIN and The White Stripes. Their first EP was recorded live at Daptone Studios in Brooklyn, and they are currently working on a followup. Their single, "Belle Gunness" was featured in a BMW commercial. Lily & The Parlour Tricks' "Requiem" song sounds convincing, direct, honest, harmonious, sweet, romantic, inspiring, and a long list of adjectives that I could keep saying without breathing until drop in the floor. Gorgeous!!!
Lily & The Parlour Tricks will be playign at SXSW. See show dates here
Night Flowers - Neverlands
Taken from the four track EP by the London band "Night Flowers", due out April 7th via Dirty Bingo Records. Night Flowers formed in 2011 and consist of Zeb Budworth, Chris Hardy, Sam Lenthall, Greg Ullyart and Hester Ullyart. Video directed by Iain Marcks.
Japanther - Vicious
The "Japanthers" ;) have a new album, "Instant Money Magic", out April 11th worldwide via Seayou Records. And they have a new video and single, "Do It (Don't Try)" as well. The album is a fourteen-track collection of remarkable songs as "Common Born", "Take me In And Let Me go", the single "Do It (Don't Try)", or "Vicious", one of my favourites. Japanther's new album is as colourful as it's cover art, and it is a never desapointing bet if you are fan of the sound and work of the New Yorker duo. Another set of wonderful songs to add to their live repertoire, already fullfilled with the very best of the band. Don't miss them if they play by you, so have a look to their dates here.
Katie Bulley - Up & In
Recorded at Sun Studio in Memphis with Johnny Cash's late bass player David Roe and percussionist John Argroves. The video is an homage to Bob Gruen, photographer of John Lennon, and capturer of Bob Dylan, Debbie Harry, Ike & Tina and New York Dolls. If you want to contribute to Katie's full album, please follow this link.
Secret Colours - It Can't Be Simple
Secret Colours are not a UK band but a 4-piece band from Chicago, IL, with influences by early 90’s British music as Blur, The Stone Roses and Oasis. "It Can't Be Simple" has nevertheless a retro psychedelic organ sound more close to 60's brit pop. The band has announced the release of their new album "Positive Distractions" on May 5th, 2014. Secret Colours will be playing at SXSW and also performing at Austin Psychfest in May. All dates here. Watch the video for "It Can't Be Simple" here.

NO - Leave The Door Wide Open
New video by Los Angeles band NO for their new single Leave The Door Wide Open, from their debut album El Prado. El Prado was released earlier this year on Arts & Crafts and it's cover art, and the video as well, are inspired in Magritte's surrealism. NO is now touring with The Darcys and they will be playing at SXSW (check tour dates). Video directed by Jordan Blady.
You can read the interview we had with them last year here.
Fuck Art, Let's Dance! - We're Manicals!
